SHORT STORY COMPETITION
To celebrate Book Week 2026, Campion Education is inviting primary school students across Australia to put their imaginations to work and enter our Short Story Competition.
Whether it’s an adventure in another world, a funny tale, a mystery, a poem or a story inspired by everyday life, we want to see where your imagination takes you.
With more than $1,300 worth of prizes up for grabs, including a $500 gift card and a book prize pack for our major winner, it’s time to get creative and start writing!

COMPETITION DETAILS
How to Enter
Write an original story of 300 words or less.
Your entry can be a short story, narrative or poem and can be fictional or inspired by real life. Get creative and tell us a story that’s uniquely yours.
Your entry must:

- Be 300 words or less
- Be the student’s own original work. The use of generative AI to create the entry is not permitted.
- Be submitted as either clear, legible images of handwritten work or a typed Word or Pdf document
- Be written by a student currently attending primary school in Australia
- A teacher, parent or guardian may submit an entry on behalf of a student but please include the required adult contact details on the entry form

Prizes
Major Prize
One winning student will receive:
$500 gift card + a mega book prize pack valued at over $500 RRP
Runner-Up Prizes
Three runners-up will each receive a $100 gift card
Important Information:
Entrants must be primary school students living in Australia. Winning entries may be published on the Campion Education website and shared across Campion Education’s social media channels. Entries can be submitted as a Word document or as a clear, fully legible image of a handwritten story. Stories must be the student’s own original work and must not be created using AI.
The total prize pool is valued at over $1,300 RRP, including a $500 gift card and book prize pack valued at over $500 RRP for the major prize winner, plus three runner-up prizes of $100 gift card each. Winners will be selected by Campion Education staff based on creativity, originality, and clarity of expression.
